Rajasthan is famous for its paintings, music and folk dances. Its miniature paintings of the many different schools of Rajasthan are now collector's items. The arts and culture has been influenced by the Persian elements during Mughal rule, and can be seen in the graceful Bikaner paintings and frescoes on palace walls.

RAJASTHAN TOUR ITINERARY:

01 DELHI
Arrival in Delhi. Transfer to hotel. Combined sightseeing of Old & New Delhi, visiting Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Shanti Van, Humayun Tomb, President House, India Gate and Qutab Minar.

02 DELHI/AGRA
Drive 210 km to Agra. En route visit Sikandara, the mausoleum of Akbar. Upon arrival proceed for sightseeing, visiting Itmad-ud-Daula's Tomb and world famous Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jehan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal. It took 22 years and 20,000 people to build the Taj Mahal.

03 AGRA/FATEHPUR SIKRI/BHARATPUR
Drive 75 to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Enroute visit the sand stone city of Fatehpur Sikri. Visit Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Official figures say that about 415 kinds of birds can be seen in this Sanctuary, 117 of which migrate from as far as Siberia and China. We will visit the Sanctuary on a Tricycle, man driven rickshaw. Overnight in a Heritage Hotel.

04 BHARATPUR/KARAULI
Drive 150 km to Karauli, a quaint township founded in 1348. You can experience a serene rural environment here apart from the City Palace and Kaila Devi Temple. Overnight in Banwar Niwas Palace, Heritage Hotel.

05 KARAULI/SAWAI MADHOPUR
Drive 104 km to Sawai Madhopur National Park spread over 400 sq kms. Park is known for Tigers, Deers, Sambars, Cheetal, Blue Bull etc.

06 SAWAI MADHOPUR/JAIPUR
Drive 167 km to Jaipur. Popularly known as the Pink City because of the pink paint applied to the buildings in its old walled city. In Rajpoot culture pink was tradionally a colour associated with hospitality. Located at the edge of the great Indian Desert, Jaipur is the gateway to Rajasthan.

07 JAIPUR
Drive for an excursion to Amber Fort, once capital of the Jaipur State, where you go up the Fort on elephant back. Drive afterwards back to Jaipur to visit the City Palace, Observatory and local bazaars.

08 JAIPUR/PUSHKAR
Drive 140 km to Pushkar, an important pilgrim center for Hindus with its Holy Lake around which are many bathing Ghats and temples. Pushkar is world famous for its Camel Fair when the town is thronged with tribal people from all over Rajasthan, pilgrims from all over India, film makers and tourists from all over the world.

09 - 10 PUSHKAR/UDAIPUR
Drive 270 km to Udaipiur, the City of Lakes. On day 10 full day sightseeing of Udaipur visiting City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Sahelion Ki Bari, the gardens of the maids-of-honour, Pratap Memorial, Fatehsagar and Lake Pichola.

11 - 12 UDAIPUR/MT ABU
Drive 187 km to Mt Abu situated at 1,200 m. Mt Abu is the highest point of Aravali range. It is mainly built around lake and is surrounded by forested hills. Day 12 sightseeing of Dilwara Jain Temples, built between 11th and 13th centuries, Adhar Devi Temple carved out of a rock, a climb of 200 steps and Nakki Lake studded with little islands.

13 MT ABU/JODHPUR
Drive 292 km to Jodhpur, one of the most distinctive princely States of Rajasthan. After check in the hotel proceed for sightseeing, visiting, Mehrangarh Fort founded in 1459, Jaswant Thada and Mahamandir.

14 - 15 JODHPUR/JAISALMER
Deep in the heart of Thar Desert, Jaisalmer is one of the last princely bastions in the region, 285 km away from Jodhpur. On day 15 full day sightseeing of Jaisalmer visiting Jain Temples built in 1156 AD, Havelis, mansions celebrated for their architecture, Gharisagar and Amarsagar.

16 JAISALMER/BIKANER
Drive 330 km to Bikaner. After check in proceed for sightseeing visiting Junagarh Fort, Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum.

17 BIKANER
Half day sightseeing of Camel breeding farm and Jain temples in Old city. In the evening visit Deshnok temple where rats are sacred and are worshipped.

18 BIKANER/NAVALGARH
Drive 215 km to Navalharh. We visit some havelis for which this part of Shekhawati is well known. Dating back to 18th century, walls, ceilings and roofs have been painted in vegetable and stone colours so beautifully that some people call it an Open Air Art Gallery of Rajasthan.

19 NAVALGARH/DELHI
Drive 240 km to Delhi.

20 DELHI/DEPARTURE
Transfer to International airport.
